Arktis Radiation Detectors is carrying out a research program together with ETH Zurich. This collaboration has lead to the development of new radiation detection technology. Expected market entry of the products is 2010.

The detectors can be deployed in active as well as in passive systems. Arktis detectors are based on a technology that has the potential to have a big impact on the way radiological materials are detected.

Our technology can be optimized for the following purposes:

Fast Neutron Detection

Advances in scintillator materials have lead to the development of large area fast neutron detectors. These devices are radiation hard, and can be deployed even in environments with strong gamma-ray backgrounds.

Fast Neutron / Gamma Detectors

Due to excellent neutron/gamma discrimination, arktis scintillation materials can be balanced out to be highly sensitive to fast neutrons, while at the same time measuring the gamma-ray activity.

Gamma Detectors

When optimized for gamma-ray detection, energy resolution values comparable to crystal scintillators can be achieved. Unlike crystals, arktis detectors are scalable to large sizes.
